The Courier King Of The Mountain
The King of the Mountain is the toughest section of the 10.2km circuit with cyclists climbing an altitude of 593 meters over 3kms.
Intermediate climbs are awarded on each sprint lap, with points allocated to the first three riders: 1st: 3 points, 2nd: 2 points, 3rd: 1 point.
The King of the Mountain jersey will be presented to the rider with the most points in the Men’s U/23 Road Race, Women’s Road Race and Men’s Road Race.
The winner of the King of the Mountain will be presented with the traditional King of the Mountain red poker dot jersey.
Spectators are encouraged to head up to the King of the Mountain finish line to watch the riders as they climb Mt. Buninyong Road.
Race commentary, refreshments and toilets will be located at the finish of the King of the Mountain.

The 2009 Courier King of the Mountain was Damien Turner. Make sure you come along next year to see Ballarat's very own Damien Turner try and take the title out again.
