Road Closures - Buninyong
All events (time trial and road race events) will start and finish on Warrenheip St at the intersection with Forest St. To enable this event to proceed safely the following closures will be put into place.
To ensure the safety of residents, spectators, cyclists and all road users throughout the Scody Australian Open Road Cycling Championships, traffic alterations will be in place.
If you are travelling through Buninyong during the event you can expect some minor delays or detours. All businesses are open as normal and can be accessed at all times during the event.

Individual Time Trials (Wednesday 6 January, Buninyong)
The individual time trials on Wednesday 6 January will see cyclists leave the start line (Warrenheip St) at one minutes intervals.
Scody Australian Open Road Races (Saturday 9 & Sunday 10 January, Buninyong)
The Scody Australian Open Road Races on Saturday 9 January and Sunday 10 January will be contested over a 10.2km circuit, encompassing Warrenheip St, the Midland HWY, Mt Buninyong Rd, Yankee Flat Rd, Gear Ave, Fisken Rd and Geelong Rd.
To accommodate traffic flow from Geelong to Sebastapol, the following detours will be implemented.
On Saturday and Sunday, the event will directly effect traffic in the following streets and roads: Warrenheip Street, Midland Highway, Mt Buninyong Road, Yankee Flat Road, Gear Avenue, Fisken Road and Geelong Road.
Road closures will be in place on Saturday from 7:30am until 5:00pm and on Sunday from 8:30am until 5:00pm.
Council will ensure residents and businesses retain access to and from properties where possible by providing alternative access points and parking.
V/Line & Davis Bus Services will operate as normal from temporary stops located on the south west corner of the roundabout. The existing bus stop will closed for the day.

Road Closures - Ballarat's CBD
- Cyclists will complete multiple laps of Sturt St, from Raglan St to Armstrong St.
- Sturt St (between Errard St and Lydiard St) will be closed to all through traffic from 2 - 10pm.
- Raglan, Lyons, Dawson, Doveton and Armstrong sts will be closed to through traffic at Sturt St from 2 - 10pm. Parking will not be affected in these streets and traffic will be made to u-turn at the intersection with Sturt St.
- Parking is not permitted on Sturt St from 2 - 10pm between Raglan and Armstrong sts.
- Parking is reserved in Dawson St Sth and Lyons St Sth (Sturt St to Dana St) for competitors and officials only from 1 - 10pm.
- Pedestrian access to businesses in this precinct will not be affected.
- Temporary V/Line and suburban bus stops will be implemented during this period - details will be displayed at bus stops and on buses.
- Please approach the area with caution and follow the direction of police and marshals.
